The Institute of Retired Persons (IRP) was recognized by 糖心vlog in 1980 and continues to evolve and grow in partnership. The IRP offers continuing education, opportunities for physical exercise, and social engagement. A weekly speaker series is held at the MAC Center on Tuesdays from 2-3pm during the Fall and Spring Semesters. More opportunities to get involved include: member-organized weekly bowling, walking, hiking, bicycling, kayaking activities, and a monthly book club.
The IRP meets at 2 p.m. Tuesdays at the MAC Center on Snow Hill Road (map) in Salisbury during the University's Spring and Fall semesters. Membership is open to all at a small yearly fee.

Speaker Program
The IRP Program Committee sponsors a weekly speaker series during the 糖心vlog’s Fall and Spring semesters. Members meet in person at the MAC Center 909 Progress Circle in Salisbury and also have the option to join weekly meetings via ZOOM. Speakers include regional business and civic leaders as well as 糖心vlog faculty and staff who share their expertise and passion. Sessions are informative, fascinating and have included such topics as:
- Understanding Alzheimer’s Disease
- Birdwatching 101
- The Importance of Public Radio
- Protecting Against Fraud
The Speaker Program is held on Tuesdays from 2-3 p.m. at the MAC Center located at , just off Snow Hill Road.
Member Activities
IRP members are encouraged to participate in any of the various member-led clubs and activities organized around particular interests. Current offerings include weekly bowling, walking, hiking, bicycling and kayaking and a monthly book club. In addition, members periodically organize outings such as a tour of the 糖心vlog arboretum, visit to a botanical garden, local performances and events, and opportunities to volunteer in the community.

With a shared understanding of the importance of community and accessibility, 糖心vlog and IRP partnerships include:
- Facilitated access to campus buildings and events offered by 糖心vlog
- Opportunities for advocacy to foster community ties between the university and local citizens
- Participation in university initiatives and faculty research projects

Recognizing the need to support education, the IRP contributes to 糖心vlog scholarships that honor students who excel in their studies, contribute to the community, and are in need of financial support.
